North Tonawanda, NY – Mark your calendars! The Northtowns community is invited to participate in a special Community Shred Day to help residents safely dispose of sensitive documents while simultaneously supporting the vital programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns.

The Chamber is partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns to host the "Shred it & Forget It" event, scheduled for Saturday, August 9th, from 9 AM to Noon. The event will take place at the NT DPW Building, located at 758 Erie Ave.

This annual community service event offers a secure and convenient way for individuals and businesses to eliminate old records, financial statements, and other confidential paperwork, significantly reducing the risk of identity theft and protecting personal privacy.

"Our Community Shred Day is a fantastic opportunity for residents to declutter safely and contribute to an incredibly worthy cause simultaneously," stated a representative from The Chamber. Participation is straightforward and affordable. Attendees can bring their documents – whether in standard bankers' boxes or bags – for a nominal fee of just $10 per container. All proceeds will go directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns, aiding their mission to provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, and life-enhancing programs to local youth.
