NORTH TONAWANDA, NY – North Tonawanda residents are invited to mark their calendars for the highly anticipated return of National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025. This free community event, held from 6 PM to 9 PM behind the North Tonawanda Police Station, promises an unforgettable evening of fun, connection, and a unique opportunity to engage with local first responders.
National Night Out is an annual nationwide campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, making our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. North Tonawanda's event aims to be the biggest and best yet, fostering stronger bonds and a safer community.
Attendees will be treated to thrilling live demonstrations and appearances by the North Tonawanda Police Department's SWAT Team and K9 unit, offering a rare glimpse into their vital work. The North Tonawanda Fire Department will also showcase its capabilities, alongside a poignant Honor Guard presentation. A spectacular highlight for many will be the Niagara County Sheriff's Department's helicopter fly-in, showcasing aerial support and coordination. Kids will even get the chance to experience "fire hose fun" with the firefighters!
Beyond the exciting demonstrations, National Night Out is packed with activities for all ages. The event will feature engaging station tours of the police department, bounce houses for endless energetic play, and creative face painting.
No community event is complete without treats – attendees can enjoy free popcorn, sno-cones, hot dogs, and drinks, generously donated by Wegmans.
This year's event also emphasizes the importance of community support. Organizers encourage attendees to "give back while they celebrate" by bringing non-perishable food items to help fill the city's Little Free Pantries. Donations of canned goods, peanut butter and jelly, pasta, canned meat, and more are especially appreciated to keep these pantries stocked and support neighbors in need throughout the summer.
For those feeling lucky, raffle tickets will be available at the event to win a brand-new 2025 Chevy Trax RS! The drawing for this exciting prize is scheduled for October 17th.
The success of North Tonawanda's National Night Out is made possible by the generous support of its dedicated sponsors, including CXS, First Responders Children's Foundation, Wegmans, Yards of Fun, and Photo Finish. Community partners, such as NORTA, will also be on hand, further strengthening the ties within North Tonawanda.
Join your neighbors for a night dedicated to "building a stronger, safer North Tonawanda – together." Don't miss this free, fun-filled event on Tuesday, August 5th, from 6 PM to 9 PM, behind the North Tonawanda Police Station!
