North Tonawanda Department of Youth Unveils Free 'Fridays This Summer' Program

NORTH TONAWANDA, NY – The North Tonawanda Department of Youth is excited to announce the return of its popular "Fridays This Summer" program, offering free family-friendly recreational activities and complimentary meals throughout the summer of 2025. Designed to bring the community together, the initiative encourages residents of all ages to enjoy active evenings and good company.

Starting this summer, every Friday will transform into an opportunity for wholesome family fun. The department's dedicated Rec Staff will lead engaging recreational activities suitable for all ages, inviting families to participate together. While parental involvement is optional, the program aims to create shared memories and promote a sense of community spirit.

Beyond the fun and games, attendees will also receive complimentary hot dogs or "Taco-in-a-Bag" along with a refreshing beverage. While the food is provided free of charge, a suggested donation of $3 per person is welcome. These voluntary contributions directly support crucial Youth Board activities, including valuable initiatives like Student Government Day and the highly anticipated Post Prom event, which benefit local youth.

The inaugural event for Summer 2025 is scheduled for Friday, July 25th, featuring a unique and engaging twist on the classic game of "BINGO." The department promises a highly entertaining version of the classic game, encouraging participants to "REC IT and make it even more fun." Registration for Bingo will commence at 5:00 PM, with games kicking off at 5:30 PM and running continuously. Food service will be available from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, allowing families the flexibility to join at any time during the evening.

"We are thrilled to offer 'Fridays This Summer' once again, providing a free and accessible way for North Tonawanda families to connect, play, and enjoy their summer evenings," said a spokesperson for the North Tonawanda Department of Youth. "It's a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy some good food, and make lasting memories, all while supporting vital youth programs."

While the full Summer 2025 schedule of activities is still being finalized, families are encouraged to mark their calendars for July 25th and stay tuned for updates on future weekly events.
