LOCAL MAN SEEKS FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR FATHER'S CANCER TREATMENT

Dan Folck, a concerned son from Lockport, NY, is reaching out to the community to raise funds for his father, Brian Folck, who is battling stage 4 lung cancer. Brian's rare form of mucinous adenocarcinoma has spread to his lymph nodes, brain, bone, liver, and abdominal area, making it increasingly difficult for him to receive the necessary treatments.

Brian began chemotherapy soon after his diagnosis in November 2023, but his condition has deteriorated, causing him to stop working and rely on social security disability. Unfortunately, his benefits have been suspended due to technicalities, and he must attend a hearing to have them reinstated.

The cancer has spread to various parts of Brian's body, including his left shoulder, liver, and abdominal area. It has affected his ability to eat solid foods, forcing him to rely on a liquid diet. He has received radiation for brain tumors and undergone chemotherapy for the cancer in his body. Still, his immune system has started to reject the treatment, and he has since been pulled off all treatments and entered hospice care.

Dan and his aunts are providing 24-hour care for Brian, but they are unable to manage the situation on their own. Hospice care is offered at Brian's home, but it is not available every day, so the family must hire aides to help out.
