Families Invited to Affordable Overnight Camp Out at Tonawanda's Veteran's Park

TONAWANDA, NY – The City of Tonawanda Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Tonawanda Youth Bureau and Boy Scout Troop 600, is inviting local families to an unforgettable night of outdoor adventure at Veteran's Park. The inaugural "Family Camp Out" promises a fun-filled evening under the stars for just $10 per campsite.
Scheduled for Saturday, August 16th, the event offers a unique opportunity for families to "pop a tent, pack the sleeping bags, and bring the whole family for a night out in the park!" Activities planned for the evening include a classic hot dog roast, a cozy campfire complete with s'mores, an outdoor movie screening, and a variety of other engaging activities.
Participants can begin their camping experience with check-in and campsite setup from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday. The following morning, campers will enjoy breakfast before packing up their sites between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM.
Each campsite accommodates a maximum of five people, and an adult must be present at all times. Families are reminded that sites are limited, encouraging early registration to secure a spot.
The cost for this memorable experience is just $10 per site.
Registration can be completed online through the City of Tonawanda's recreation portal, with a 3% fee applied for credit card payments. Alternatively, families can pay with cash or check by visiting 291 Kohler Street.
