Carnegie Art Spree Festival Returns for Third Year, Transforming Tonawandas in August

Tonawanda, NY – August 12, 2024 – The third annual Carnegie Art Spree (CAS) Festival is poised to bring a burst of creativity to the historic Erie Canal waterfront, transforming the downtown areas of the City of North Tonawanda and the City of Tonawanda on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, 2025.

This free, family-friendly juried arts festival, running daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, invites residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in a diverse array of artistic talent against the picturesque backdrop of the iconic canal.

Building on the success of its previous years, the CAS Festival will span both sides of the Tonawandas, creating an expansive pathway for art discovery. Key locations include Webster Street, the Renaissance Bridge, and Canal Street, with the Carnegie Art Center serving as a central hub. Local businesses along Webster Street will further enhance the experience with their popular "Arts & Eats" event, offering culinary delights alongside the visual feast.

A hallmark of the CAS is its commitment to showcasing original work through its juried selection process. Artists of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with submissions welcome across 11 distinct categories. Notably, the festival maintains a strict policy against resellers and any art generated by artificial intelligence (AI Art), upholding the integrity of authentic human creativity.

Adding to the accessibility, this year introduces non-juried artist booths, providing even more opportunities for emerging and established artists to participate in the vibrant community event.

Prospective artists can find the free application on the official event website. Early bird pricing for booth space (both days) is $150 for juried artists and $125 for non-juried, available until May 31, 2025. The regular application deadline is July 12, 2025, with rates increasing to $175 for juried booths and $150 for non-juried. All booth payments are due by August 1, 2025 to secure participation.

Whether you're an art enthusiast, a family looking for a fun weekend outing, or an artist seeking a vibrant platform, the Carnegie Art Spree Festival offers something for everyone.
